The 21-year-old arrives at The Hive from the League One side until December 22nd and is available for selection for tomorrow’s game against AFC Fylde.
Jules started his career with Reading and rose through their academy system before signing his first professional deal in 2015.
During his time with the Royals, Zak had non-league loan-spells with Hemel Hempstead Town and Braintree Town as well as a spell in the Scottish Premiership with Motherwell.
Despite being born in London, Jules is eligible for Scotland and has represented them at Under-17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 level.
Zak featured regularly for Shrewsbury in pre-season 2017/18 but was loaned out for game time at Chesterfield in a spell that was cut short by injury. He would also spend time at Port Vale towards the end of the season.
Speaking on joining Barnet, Jules said “I’m delighted to get it over the line and join a big club, especially in this division. I don’t feel that this club should be down here, so the targets and standards are quite high by the manager.”
“John (Still) has got a big reputation of getting clubs out of this division and having clubs do really well in the division above, so I am looking forward to being a part of that and hopefully the loan spell is a real success.
“I’m still young, I’m 21 and I have had a full pre-season, it’s now about kicking on and progressing.
“It’s been a quick turnaround, but it’s been made clear to me that I was wanted by him, and that’s something any player would want to hear. You want to be somewhere that you’re wanted and feel like you’re valued.
“I feel like I should get that here and hopefully I can repay that by putting in some good shifts and good performances.”
Welcome to the club, Zak!
