LANDVREUGD EXPECTS TO KEEP HYDE

Assistant manager Ulrich Landvreugd believes Jake Hyde will start the 2013/14 season with Barnet Football Club.
The club’s top scorer last season handed in a transfer request last month but has since made a return to action following a foot injury that ruled him out of the start of pre-season.
Speaking following Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Hendon Landvreugd stated that the club are planning on having the 23-year-old at the club next season.
“Yes of course [we are planning on him being here next season], he did well for last year and he has good qualities.”
“If he is leaving then there are opportunities for George Sykes and Harry Crawford but I think Hyde will be here at the beginning of the season, definitely.”
The forward limped out of Tuesday’s match after 69 minutes but Edgar Davids’ second in command insisted it was nothing more than cramp.
“Jake is currently not fully fit because he had a small foot injury at the start of pre-season.
“He is currently around a week behind the other members of the team, they have had 21 days training and he has 15.”
“It was more cramp today but it is a good thing that he could be play 70 minutes because next time we can step that up to 80 or 90 minutes.”
Landvreugd also revealed that he and Davids hope to add two more players to the team before the start of the 2013/14 season.
“We are not done with the team yet but I think we need a minimum of one, maximum of two players to finish the team.
“It is more about the details but I think we need two players to complete the team.”
