Jon Nurse departs the Bees

Barnet FC would like to wish Player-coach Jon Nurse the best for the future as he departs the club by mutual consent, to further his career outside of the Bees. Jon was an integral part of the coaching set-up during the Conference title winning season, making 11 first team appearances as a player in the process.

Jon was well known at Barnet for his hard work both on and off of the pitch, and as a result he was duly presented with the Clubman of the Year trophy during the 2015 Player of the Year Awards dinner in March.

Jon would like to thank everyone for the support that they‘ve shown during his time with the Bees, and believes that Barnet will do well in League Two.

“It was a great achievement to gain promotion with Barnet last season; the fans’ support was fantastic and helped us get over the finish line.”

Commenting on Jon’s departure, Bees Chairman Tony Kleanthous said:

“Jon Nurse was an excellent servant to the club and put in a lot of effort both on & off the pitch contributing to our successful promotion campaign.”

“We here at Barnet FC wish Jon well with his chosen path into the world of coaching and we will follow his progress with interest. Our thanks go to him for his work with us over the years.”
