John Akinde’s stellar season has seen the Barnet striker shortlisted for the London Football Awards EFL Player of the Year gong.
The striker has already bagged 19 goals in just 30 appearances and leads the EFL League Two scoring charts.
He is up against Fulham pair Sone Aluko and Tom Cairney, Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Alex Smithies and former Brentford hitman Scott Hogan.
The winners will be announced on March 2 at Battersea Evolution. Nominees are selected by a panel of ex-players, football administrators and reporters to help raise funds for Willow, the only national charity providing Special Days for seriously ill 16-40-year-olds.
Good luck, John!
