Barnet FC are delighted to announce the signing of experienced midfielder Jake Reeves from AFC Wimbledon on a season-long loan.
The 33-year-old arrives at The Hive with a wealth of EFL experience, having made more than 400 senior appearances during a career that has included spells with Brentford, Swindon Town, Gillingham, Notts County, Stevenage and AFC Wimbledon.
Reeves also brings an impressive promotion pedigree to Dean Brennan’s squad, having achieved promotion from League Two on three separate occasions.
His first promotion came with AFC Wimbledon in 2016, when he lined up alongside current Barnet assistant manager Connor Smith as the Dons defeated Plymouth Argyle in the League Two play-off final at Wembley.
Reeves later helped Stevenage secure automatic promotion to League One during the 2022/23 campaign before captaining Wimbledon to another Wembley triumph in May 2025, leading the Dons back into League One following victory over Walsall.
A composed and hard-working central midfielder, Reeves adds further quality, experience and leadership to the Bees’ squad for the 2026/27 campaign.

Speaking on his latest signing, Gaffer Dean Brennan:
“We believe Reevesy will give us vast experience that we lack within the squad, he’s been promoted out of this league three times with both AFC Wimbledon and Stevenage.
When Hartigan left we’ve been looking to replace that quarterback and Reeves ticks all the boxes.
We’ve been after him for a long time, we know he’s a big character and a leader in the changing room and will give us something extra that we haven’t got, he’s a great addition to the midfield and a strong addition to the group”.
On joining up with the Bees Jake added:
There are some very good footballers here, I’ve played with a few here already which always helps to settle in and it’s a nice easy group here and I can’t wait to get started”.
