Jack Taylor puts pen to paper on new deal at The Hive

The midfield maestro has agreed to a three-year deal at The Hive subject to confirmation from the relevant governing bodies.

After making his Barnet debut against Norwich City in the EFL Trophy in October 2016, Jack has gone on to make over 80 appearances for the Bees scoring seven goals along the way.

His versatility and unpredictable playing style have made him a firm fans favourite at The Hive, and Darren Currie couldn’t be happier to secure the signature of the young midfielder.

He said: “I’m absolutely delighted again, as I was with Elliott Johnson, that another one of our players has committed to the club.

“Jack Taylor is an incredible talent with a big future in front of him and we’re delighted he’s chosen to continue his development with us.

“There’s still so much more to come from Jack. He’s had an incredible summer getting his international call-up and making his debut for his country.

“Jack’s on a good path at the minute and long may that continue.”

Jack admitted he’s looking to bring up a century of appearances after signing his three-year deal.

He said: “I’m delighted to get it done. I’ve been talking to the chairman for a while now and I’m really happy we’ve managed to get it over the line.

“It was amazing to get a call-up to the Irish national team this summer and to add this, it just tops it off.

“I’m near 100 appearances now and I’d like to get that century under my belt as well as scoring a few more goals this year.

“I honestly think that with the team that we’ve got, we should go up.”
