Barnet Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Harry Smith on-loan until the end of the season from Leyton Orient.
Â
The 27-year-old striker scored 13 goals in League Two for The O’s last season and has featured in League One games this season while on-loan at Exeter City.
Â
Smith started his career at Folkestone Invicta where he scored 13 goals in 19 appearances. That earned him a move to Championship side Millwall in 2016. Following a loan-spell with Swindon Town, Smith signed for Macclesfield Town. The 6,5ft forward scored 9 goals for The Silkmen in his debut season for the club. He then signed for Northampton Town and helped guide them to Play-Off success in 2020. Smith would feature 16 times in League One the following season. In 2021 Smith then signed for Leyton Orient. Â
Â
Upon signing, Harry Smith, said:
“I’ve never played here before, (Barnet) are a big club in the division and it’s good to see them battling at the top end. I want to bring more goals to the team”
Barnet FC Head Coach, Dean Brennan, said:
“We’ve been in dialogue with Harry (Smith) and his agent for a long time. I know Martin Ling, we have a very good relationship with Leyton Orient.Â
Â
A lot of National League sides were after him. It’s suited the boy (Harry Smith) to stay in the London area and with how we play was a big selling point.
Â
He will come straight into the squad and add another dynamic to our attacking line.”
Smith will wear the number 30 shirt.
Â
Welcome to Barnet, Harry!
Â
The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
