Every Word from Elliott Johnson following Farsley Celtic

On the performance

I think with the conditions of the pitch and things like that, they’re (Farsley Celtic) going to be up for it because we play in a league higher.

First half we dealt with it very well – we got the goal, and then second half we didn’t take our chances which gave them a bit of belief. To be fair to them, they got their goal, sat in and made it hard for us. We’ve got it all to do on Tuesday.

On what he expected from the game

We knew it was going to be tough. We knew that the pitch wasn’t going to be the best and we would be in for a fight but unfortunately we couldn’t quite get the job done.

On the positives taken

Considering we’re not used to playing on pitches like this, I think we dealt with it really well, especially at the start of the game – it didn’t take us long to get into it, but towards the end, we’re disappointed we couldn’t see the game out.

On getting the early goal

It was huge. It gave us a boost throughout the game and if we had got a second, it would’ve killed the game off, but it wasn’t meant to be.

In the end, we’re happy that we held on for the replay because they put us under pressure towards the end and we dug in well.

Especially from some of their set-pieces – they’re a big team, and now on Tuesday, we can play our stuff on our pitch.

On Tuesday night’s replay

The pitch suited them a bit more tonight – we had to play a different way to what we’re used to. So I think getting back on our home patch, we can work on the things that we do in training and put that into practice.
