DOM TELFORD JOINS THE BEES!

We are delighted to announce the signing of experienced EFL striker Dom Telford on loan from Barrow until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old goal scorer joins the Bees from League Two side Barrow and will be available for selection in tomorrow’s National League match away at Tamworth FC.

Dom began his career with Blackpool in 2014 where he spent one season, before moving to Stoke City for the following three.

During his time with The Potters, he went on loan to Bristol Rovers and later moved permanently to Bury, scoring 6 goals in 38 appearances.

In 2019 he transferred to Plymouth Argyle where he spent one and a half years with The Pilgrims and had 35 appearances.

But it was in 2021 where he had his breakthrough as he joined Newport County in League 2, making 52 appearances during his time.

In the 2021/22 season, Telford was the first Newport County player in nearly 40 years to score over 20 league goals for the club in one season.

He was named in the EFL League 2 team of the season as well as claiming the league’s top goal scorer, finishing with 25 goals to his name.

He later decided to join Crawley Town in the summer of 2022, then later transferring to Barrow at the start of the 2023/24 season.

Speaking on his arrival, gaffer Dean Brennan said,

“We’ve been in the market for a box player since last summer and have had to be extremely patient for this profile of player.

We identified Dom over 18 months ago and have been tracking him on a regular basis.

The bottom line is Dom’s a killer in the box and the right fit for our system.

I had a really good conversation with Dom and his agent and told him how I see him succeeding in our team.

We managed to agree a good deal with Barrow, and I thank them for their help making this happen and I know Dom’s attributes will help the team.”

Welcome to the Bees Dom!

The deal is subject to the usual FA and League clearances.
