Brentford 0 – 1 Barnet
A Mathew Stevens goal game The Bees a narrow 1-0 win over Brentford.
Sam Muggleton’s throw was flicked onto Stevens, who volleyed the ball past the home side’s keeper to seal the win for Barnet.
Speaking after the game, Development Squad coach Ross Eames said:
“It was a pretty even match; Brentford dominated possession in the first half, but the Bees contained them well.
“We moved the ball well in possession, but could have passed the ball around a bit quicker.
“In the second period we pressed Brentford in their own half, and created chances through great pressure, excellent work rate, and good inter-play when we had the ball.
“There was some really good link up play; Mat Stevens had four or five chances, with Shomotun and Fonguck having chances as well.
“From my point of view it was a very controlled and disciplined performance, and there was a fantastic attitude from everyone on the pitch who played a part.”
