DEVELOPMENT SQUAD 1-1 MILLWALL

The Development Squad put in yet another encouraging display to earn a 1-1 draw at The Hive on Monday against Millwall.
Jamal Lowe’s equaliser cancelled out a scrappy opening goal for the Lions who were beaten by the Development Squad in the first match of the Barclays Under-21 Professional Development League.
Speaking post-match George Sykes admitted the Bees were punished for making sloppy mistakes and stated that they should have won the game.
“We drew 1-1 but we started the game really well and should have made it count. They didn’t cause us too much trouble but we conceded a sloppy goal.
“Apart from that we were comfortable but we do need to be more clinical because we missed a few chances today that could have won us the game.”
Lowe, who has now returned from a loan spell with Boreham Wood, got the goal and Sykes revealed that if the club deemed it beneficial then he be happy to leave on loan.
“We battled well in the second-half and we had all of the ball so we probably should have won the game.
“We were rewarded with a good goal from Jamal Lowe who rolled the ball in after a neat flick on from a throw in. Hopefully we can kick on and end the season strongly.”
He continued: “Going out on loan is definitely something I would be interested in but it is up to club to decide when I am ready.”
