DEAN’S WORDS | POST-MATCH TAMWORTH

We knew it would be a difficult game here against Tamworth, and a huge amount of credit and respect to them.

They’ve come a long way, coming off from back-to-back promotions to get where they are and that wouldn’t be possible without hard work and a strong mentality, I wish them all the best for the rest of the season.

But we are also here to do a job, we have also worked hard to be where we are, and we aren’t going to let that slip easy.

The lads are staying calm, staying focused in lots of situations and continuing to keep a strong mentality.

I’m also really impressed by Owen Evans performances today, he pulled off some incredible saves and that is what we brought him here to do, to make those saves.

The team put up a strong effort against a side who have only lost two games at home this season, and we are the only side in the top four to come here and get the win which says a lot really.

There were some strong challenges today I believe we deserved more than what was awarded.

Some challenges looked to be in what I thought was close to great bodily harm, especially with the one on Glover near the technical box, anywhere you go that is a red card.

End of the day the referee made a call and thankfully the outcome wasn’t anything serious.

We travel to Boston United next Saturday, and Boston have a great manger in Graham Coughlan, I know he did a great job when he was in charge of Newport County, so it’ll be a tough game at the Jakemans Community Stadium.

It’s not easy to win games away from home and being back on the road again next week to Boston United will be another challenge.

But like I say every game is a cup final from now till the end, and with 16 games remaining we will continue to treat every game as such.
