Barnet Football Club’s appeal to overturn Edgar Davids’ red card against Accrington Stanley has been rejected by the Football Association.
The club hoped to see the booking overturned due to mistaken identity but the claim was dismissed and the head-coach will now serve a two-match ban.
It will begin with immediate effect and Edgar miss tonight’s match against Fleetwood Town and Saturday’s match against Cheltenham Town.
It will not however impact upon his coaching duties and he will be able to resume his role as head-coach from the sidelines.
He is eligible to return to the pitch on 29 March 2013 for the match against Dagenham & Redbridge at Underhill.
