Edgar Davids praised the club for keeping the core of the team together following relegation but revealed he is keen to add more players to the squad.
The Dutchman did however state that if the right players are not available he will do all he can to develop the players already at the club.
Speaking to BarnetFC.com and The Barnet Times, Davids stated his intention to add to different areas of the squad.
“I am very pleased with how many players we have kept at the club and I hope we can bring in a few more signings to compliment the squad.
“There is no set number of players and we will have to wait and see, our budget is not unlimited but there are some areas of the team we will look to strengthen.”
He added: “We need to make sure they are the right players but we will have to see who develops themselves in the positions they are in. It is more about seeing, developing and processing all the little bolts together.”
Davids also revealed that he was very happy to be at the club and that the fan base and infrastructure played a big role in his decision to stay.
“There is always doubt because this is football and anything can happen. The simplest thing you can do is be surprised, like we say in Holland, ‘the ball is round’.”
“I am very pleased to be here, we have a very loyal and appreciative fan base, the infrastructure of the club is also very good and that makes things easier.”
Barnet FC will face Ipswich Town, MK Dons and AEL Limassol at The Hive during pre-season and the head-coach believes the club’s new stadium will play a big role in any success the Bees have during the season.
“If you have a home-base that is like ours it paves the way for positive results. It will keep helping us throughout the course of the season.”
