CROPPER & SHELTON INSPIRE LOCAL TALENT AT AC FINCHLEY

First-team squad members, Mark Shelton and Jordan Cropper brought the ‘Bees in the Community’ initiative to life by visiting Affiliate Club, AC Finchley, at their training session at Millbrook Park School.
Mark and Jordan met with the players aged 11 and 12 sharing insights about their journey to becoming pro players. They highlighted the core values essential for success in football and discussed the realities of playing for Barnet FC and gave advice about the importance of not giving up after setbacks, doing extra training to become the best player you can be and living a healthy lifestyle. The lads also shared top tips on the art of midfield play, defending and long throw-ins!
AC Finchley, are a proud member of the Affiliate Club Programme delivered by The Hive Foundation, and were our guest club at Barnet FC’s recent fixture against Oldham. Players from AC Finchley were player escorts and flag bearers, and all AC Finchley club members received a complimentary ticket to enjoy the game.
The Hive Foundation Manager, Dan Barton, commented, “Through the Affiliate Club Programme, we’re building connections with local grassroots clubs, inspiring local children and supporting the development of young players whilst building the future fan base of Barnet FC and London Bees.
