The side, nicknamed the Barnet Old Boys, secured their spot last week in a regional tournament hosted here at The Hive London by the EFL Trust.

Shaun Sherrick of the Walking Football Team has been speaking following their qualification.

“It was a brilliant team performance which saw captain Steve Chittenden lead the Bees to qualification for the prestigious EFL finals at St Georges Park.

“The tournament was a success for The Hive, all the teams commented on the great set up we have.

“As always, we thank Matt and Connor from The Hive Foundation, with Andreas for organising the pitches and our Chairman Mr Kleanthous for his continued support of the Walking Football Team.”

Walking Football is one of the many Community activities run by The Hive Foundation. Over 50s Walking Football Sessions take place on Thursday evenings (7-8pm) and Friday afternoons (2-3pm). £3 per session.
