The Black & Amber opened the tournament with a 0-0 draw v Feltham. Despite having the vast majority of the possession, the best chance of the game fell to Feltham. A deflected shot beat the Bees ‘keeper all ends up but thankfully cannoned back off of the post.

Next up for Barnet was a 4-0 victory over Cheshunt with strikes from Tom Moran, Ad Rose and Alan Preston, who secured goal of the tournament with a delightful chipped finish.

The final match saw the Bees up against Barnet B, who had drawn their opening game 0-0 with Cheshunt and were unlucky to lose their next match to Feltham 1-0 with a heavily deflected own goal.

They went into the game knowing a victory would leave Feltham having to beat Cheshunt by at least 5 goals in their final match to take the trophy.

Barnet found the B team difficult to break down it what was a very even match up. With the match coming to a close and the deadlock still to be broken, a B team defender stepped into the ‘keepers zone subsequently giving Barnet a chance to win it late from the spot.

Tom Moran stepped up and coolly dispatched the penalty, securing a 1-0 win in the process.

Feltham could only draw 1-1 with Cheshunt meaning that Barnet Over 50s lifted the cup.

The majority of players stayed behind to watch the Sky Bet League 2 match which followed, a great day for the young & old Barnet FC sides.
