Bondz N’Gala: “Confidence is high”

Bondz N’Gala believes that that Bees are starting to make progress in League Two, following their 1-0 home win against Plymouth Argyle.

Reflecting on the match, the centre-back said:

“First and foremost it was great to get three points.

“It was also good to get another clean sheet, and to carry on our good form.

“We’ve just got to secure safety now, and then see where we are.

“We’re on a little run, and hopefully we can continue going with that.

“Confidence is high, and we’re confident that we can mix it with the best teams in the league at the moment.

“We’re showing that we can, so we’ve just got to continue our good form.

“We were very unlucky to lose to Portsmouth and Plymouth away from home, so we felt like we owed them one back here!

“We’ve demonstrated that we can beat teams with much bigger budgets than us.

“Plymouth put some pressure on us; they’re a good side with some good players.

“But all eleven of us dug in, kept the clean sheet and won the game.

“Beating a number of the top sides is a statement from us, but I’m not sure who else cares about little old Barnet!

“People don’t really pay attention to us, but we’re a sleeping giant and we can do well.

“Last season everyone wanted to beat us, and it was their cup final when they played us.

“This season everyone else is our cup final, and we’re showing to them that we can mix it with these sorts of teams.

“I’m glad to have played the majority of games this season, and I’ve really enjoyed it.

“I think that we’ve done alright as a team and that we’re starting to kick on now.

“The teams are slightly better in League Two than in the Conference – they’ve got a little bit more quality.

“But I think we’ve shown that all of us are more than capable of playing at this level.

“We’ve got a very good squad – everyone in the team is able to slot in and do a job for the team, as we’ve seen in recent weeks.”
