Barnet FC are delighted to announce their fifth signing of the summer in Bira Dembélé, who has joined the club on a two-year deal.
The 27-year-old central defender joins the Bees after leaving Stevenage this summer, where he made a total of 43 appearances after joining in February 2014, helping Boro to reach the League Two Play-Off semi-finals last season.
Hailing from just outside Paris, the former France U21 international has also represented the likes of Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes and CS Sedan – as well as enjoying loan spells with US Boulogne and Red Star 93 – before arriving in England.
Discussing his move to The Hive, Bira said that he was delighted to have joined and is already looking forward to linking up with his new teammates when the players return for training on July 1st:
“I am very happy to have joined Barnet Football Club and I hope to do very well here.
“I came here because the club has lots of ambition and when you play football you need to be ambitious to get anywhere.
“I have played in this division before and I want to help Barnet push up another level.
“I am very excited to start pre-season and meet the rest of the players so we can start working towards getting another promotion.”
