The EFL have confirmed the Bees will face Newport County, who finished 22nd in League Two last season, in a Carabao Cup Preliminary Round.
This is to reduce the number of clubs competing in Rounds One and Two, allowing all Premier League European clubs to compete in Round Three of the tournament.
While the exact date of the fixture is yet to be confirmed, our planned friendly against Boreham Wood has been cancelled for scheduling reasons.
Full fixture information will be announced in due course.
The other Preliminary Round game will see Accrington Stanley (21st in EFL2) play Oldham Athletic (National League play-off winners).
The Home sides will be determined in a draw taking place live on Sky Sports News at 4:30pm on Thursday 26 June, coinciding with EFL Fixture Release Day.
This will be the Bees’ first outing in the competition since a valiant effort at the AMEX Stadium in August 2017, which ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
