Bees sign attacking midfielder, Kian Flanagan

The Club are pleased to announce the signing of former Crystal Palace midfielder, Kian Flanagan. The exciting young midfielder joins the Club on an initial two year deal.

Flanagan can play in a range of positions within the centre of the park but one of his main attributes is getting beyond the striker and being a threat in front of goal.

The 21-year-old joins the Bees from Premier League side Crystal Palace, where he spent six years with the Eagles from the age of 15. Most notably, Flanagan has been plying his trade on a weekly basis for their Under-23 side since the tender age of 17 and was considered one of the Clubs hottest young prospects.

Last season, Flanagan featured regularly within the Premier League ‘2’ and scored four goals from midfield in a successful final season with the South London Club.

Flanagan has also achieved success internationally, already representing the Republic of Ireland at U17, U18 and U19 level, where he has so far made 11 appearances for his county.

Now Flanagan makes the move to The Hive London where he will hope to use his time with the Eagles and be a creative spark within the Bees midfield.

Speaking on his arrival at The Hive, Flanagan said:

“I am buzzing, I am ready to start my career, this is my first big first team move and I am ready to go. The gaffer has shown great faith in me, as well as Dean (Brennan.), I felt loved straight away and with the football, we’re looking to play, it’s exciting and I am excited to get going.

“I’ve had a good youth career at Crystal Palace, now I am ready to show everyone what I can do within First Team football. I like to get past players, I want to create goals or assist.”

We’re delighted to welcome Kian to the Club and wish him well during his time with the Bees. Bees fans can see Kian in action over the course of pre-season. The deal is subject to all of the usual regulatory processes.
