The heavy midweek defeat at the hands of Championship Watford in a behind-closed-doors friendly is not going to be swept under the carpet as Head Coach Mark Robson explains. “It wouldn’t be right to ignore this match just because it’s pre-season, we’ll try to take the positives out of the match and by that I mean taking a good hard look at what Watford did in terms of pressing and defensively for example and see if we can incorporate these elements into our game.
“It’s important that we attempt to go about making improvements in certain areas. We like to test ourselves against teams of this quality, but fortunately that is not the kind of opposition we’ll face each week in League 2.”
Tomorrow’s game at Borehamwood is the last scheduled fixture prior to the campaign’s first competitive match when the Bees visit Birmingham City in the 1st Round of the Capital One Cup.
Behind the scenes Barnet are attempting to stage another match prior to the season commencing; but without success as yet.
Danny Uchechi will be involved in the game and Mark Robson has admitted that there is a possibility of another trialist coming in show his worth.
Admission prices for tomorrow are £12 and £6 for concessions.
