Barnet snap up Tutonda

Barnet Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of exciting left-sided player David Tutonda on a two-year contract from Cardiff City.

Tutonda, 21, becomes the Bees’ second signing ahead of the January transfer window. We are awaiting international clearance before he can make his debut.

Speaking following the signing of Tutonda, interim head coach Rossi Eames said: “The beauty of what David brings is he is versatile. He’s been out on loan a couple of times at Newport County and York City and he is a good age.

“That versatility will really help the team and squad and he has been a pleasure to coach so far.”

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tutonda joined Cardiff City in 2012 when he was spotted by current AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley.

Tutonda, who can play anywhere down the left-hand side or at centre-back, has previously spent time on loan at Newport County and York City making 26 appearances.

Interim assistant head coach Henry Newman added: “David is a young player who was brought to our attention very recently after we were told we would be in interim charge.

“He is very attack minded, has good physicalitY, has an excellent attitude and he is a really level-headed boy. He has been in training with us for the last three or four days.

“It took us a little bit of time to get him in but, since he has been in, he has been excellent.”
You can watch Rossi and Henry’s full interview on the signing of David Tutonda below. There will be an interview with David later today.
