Barnet Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Phillip Chinedu and midfielder Diallang Jaiyesimi from Leyton Orient on loan until the end of the season.
27-year-old Jaiyesimi joins the Bees with a wealth of experience across the EFL, with 40 goal contributions to his name.
The versatile midfielder began his career at Dulwich Hamlet, before moving to Norwich City where he signed his first professional contract, gaining valuable experience on loan at Grimsby Town and Yeovil Town in League Two as a youngster.
The London-born winger’s first permanent move away from the Canaries came after a successful season with Swindon Town on loan, where he helped the Robins achieve League One status before committing to a permanent deal.
A three-year association with League One side Charlton Athletic followed, where he made a total of 64 appearances for the Addicks and was also loaned out to AFC Wimbledon and St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.
Joining him in amber and black for the remainder of the campaign is 19-year-old Chinedu, who operates as a left-sided defender and joins the Bees for his first experience in League Two.
The youngster spent time in Blackburn Rovers’ youth set-up before moving to the O’s, where he signed his professional contract last summer and made his competitive debut in a Vertu Trophy fixture in October last year.
The defender has enjoyed multiple loan spells in the early stages of his professional career, with St Albans City and Hemel Hempstead in the National League South, before spending time with Wealdstone in the National League earlier this season.
On bringing both players to the Club, Manager Dean Brennan said,
“Phil’s a player we’ve been chasing for a long time and he gives the team balance, which we’ve been crying out for.
He’ll bring extreme power, extreme physicality and he’s got a huge future in the game.
We’re hoping DJ will give us the dribbling quality and quality around the box that the team has needed.
They’re two great editions to the group, which gives us strength in depth and adds even more quality.”
Welcome to the Club, DJ and Phil!
The deals are subject to the usual league and FA clearances
