Barnet 2-1 Grimsby Town

Barnet FC exacted revenge on Grimsby Town for two defeats earlier in the season with a 2-1 win over the Mariners at The Hive.
The Bees took the lead within 120 seconds as Mauro Vilhete headed home but the away side rallied and equalised with 58 minutes played.
The Mariners looked in pole position to go on and win the game but Hyde flicked the ball past James McKeown with 9 minutes remaining to give Barnet their third consecutive win.
The Bees made one change to the side which beat Tamworth 1-0 with Valentin Gjokaj coming in to replace Jack Saville who was unavailable due to a hip injury.
Barnet made a stunning start to the match and they took the lead inside two minutes as Vilhete headed home from a Mark Bryne corner.
Special praise has to go to debutant Gjokaj who surged forward with the ball cruising past the Mariners midfield to help earn the corner-kick.
Four minutes later it could and perhaps should have been 2-0 when Dani Lopez broke through and curled the ball past McKeown and agonisingly onto the post.
With 17 minutes played Barnet continued to push forward in search of a second and they had a great chance to do so when KMB got in behind the Mariners’ defence only to waste his cross.
With 22 minutes played Grimsby were forced into the first substitution of the night when Aswad Thomas limped off to be replaced by Jamal Fyfield.
As the half wore on Grimsby’s influence grew and they almost equalised with three minutes of the half remaining when Scott Neilson’s shot deflected inches wide.
The Mariners began the second period as they ended the first and with 53 minutes played they were desperately unlucky not to level as Andy Yiadom cleared Clayton McDonald’s header off the line.
Grimsby continued to dominate and with 58 minutes on the clock they equalised as Craig Disley sent a superb 20-yard header over Jupp and into the net.
The Bees respond well with Lopez heading wide, KMB shooting over and Jake Hyde firing high into the night sky.
The Bees made changes in the final half hour with Charlie Adams and Elliot Johnson replacing Lopez and Vilhete.
With ten minutes remaining Hyde sent The Hive into overdrive as he flicked Yiadom’s cross into the net to give the Bees a 2-1 lead.
Hyde’s goal was the first time Barnet have scored more than once in 12 games since a 0-2 win away to Dartford despite scoring in all 12 matches.
Five minutes were added on at the end but despite Luisma Villa being forced off through injury the Bees held on to secure what is without a doubt their biggest win of the season so far.
