Barnet Ladies suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Aston Villa at Boldmere St Michael.

Carly Davies scored a brace and Erin Vaughan also scored as Lydia Bedford’s side failed to replicate their recent form.

Villa skipper Dani Petrovic returned from injury to take on the Bees who fell behind after 10 minutes when the captain clipped a ball over the Bees defence where Davies was able to convert.

Vaughan, Emma Follis and Bethan Merrick all went close for the home side in the first-half but Bedford’s side held firm to ensure the deficit remained at one going into the break.

With an hour played the claret and blues doubled their lead as Vaughan headed home from a Chloe Jones’ cross. 

Five minutes from time the home side sealed the win as Kelly Clarke jinxed her way past the Bees defence and crossed to Davies who headed into the back of the net.
