Barnet FC’s first pre-season friendly takes place on Saturday when the Bees take on Peterborough United at The Hive at 15:00.
And manager Martin Allen is targeting the pre-season programme, which sees Barnet play five matches at home here at The Hive, as a good chance to build some momentum ahead of the forthcoming season, and believes that the Bees’ supporters could have a crucial role to play:
“I think if we put together a good team and they start to see some good performances, the attitude around the whole club will snowball forward.
"It’s not instant; it’s not like a light switch. It’s a build-up, to get the people back supporting Barnet and to build that momentum and the atmosphere from Underhill that we had.”
With the new campaign just a few weeks away, Allen is excited about the journey that the new season will bring as Barnet prepare for their second season in their new home:
“It’s always takes a little bit of time when you move ground, but we have to move on, this is a fantastic facility. People are going to find their places within this ground and get relationships with the players, individual players and the younger players coming through, and their love for the club.
"It’s a big project and it’s good to be part of it.”
