Iffy Allen is aiming to cement his place in the first-team after signing his first professional contract with the club.
The winger put pen to paper on a long-term deal last week and admitted that despite working hard this season the real work will start now.
“I am very pleased to have signed my first professional contract with Barnet Football Club.
“I have been working very hard this season in training and I have played a lot of games for the Development Squad.”
The 18-year-old is currently the club’s top scorer in the Barclays Under-21 Development League after notching seven goals in just nine games.
“This season has been a good one for me, I have scored a lot of goals and I hope that I can score many more.
“I made my debut in the FA Cup against Oxford United which was also a great experience for me.”
Allen now hopes he can force his way into the first-team on a regular basis but he is remaining calm and insists there is no rush.
“My hope is that I can break into the first-team by the end of the season, if that does not happen then I will work even harder to make sure it does in pre-season.
“Right now I need to stay focused and keep working hard, hopefully now I have signed new deal I can train with the first-team more and gain the experience I need to progress.”
