Barnet Football Club are delighted to announce that Nik Tavares has today signed a contract extension at the Club.
Nik joined Barnet from Dagenham & Redbridge at the end of the 2023/24 season.
He had an incredible first season with the Bees, playing a key role in helping Barnet win the Vanarama National League title and returning the Club back to the EFL for the first time in 7 years.
He made 38 appearances in the league for the Bees, picking up one goal along the way which came in a 3-1 win at The Hive Stadium against Boston United back in October 2024.
Speaking on his extension, Tavares said,
“I’m delighted! After how well last season went and personally for me, it’s a great environment here.
After speaking with the Gaffer about signing a new deal, I thought there was only one thing to do and that was to get it done, so I’m really happy with it and I can’t wait to get started for the new season.”
Barnet Manager Dean Brennan said,
“A proper leader.
I’m delighted that he’s extended his contract with us.
Just everything that he’s about.
He’s a class defender and everyone at Barnet knows what he can do so it’s great news for the football club.”
Congratulations Nik and see you for pre-season in a few weeks!
The deal is subject to the usual regulatory processes.
