Dean Brennan’s side fell to defeat in the Vanarama National League – losing 6-1 against Notts County under the lights at Meadow Lane.
The hosts started quickly and opened the scoring in the 7th minute as Ruben Rodrigues dispossessed Rob Hall on the edge of the box and struck low and hard at goal.
Aston Oxborough got down to make the save but spilled it into the path of Elisha Sam who tapped in.
Notts County doubled their advantage four minutes later as Jayden Richardson found Cal Roberts infield who brought the ball towards goal and fired high into the net from 20-yards out.
Roberts looked to add his second of the night in the 19th minute as he shot goalwards from inside the area to force Oxborough to palm the ball over the crossbar.
The Bees almost pulled one back shortly afterwards as Teddy Howe’s low cross into the area found Daniel Powell who had his goalbound effort blocked behind by Richard Brindley.
Ian Burchnall’s side netted a third just before the half hour mark as Cameron launched the ball forward to Sam who took it down and unleashed a fierce strike into the far corner of the net.
Sam went close to securing his first-half hat-trick as he cut the ball onto his right foot and whipped it inches wide of the post just before the break.
Shortly after the restart Mason-Clark went through on goal and blazed his shot just over the crossbar in an effort to find the top corner.
The Magpies reacted almost immediately and scored a fourth goal when Rodgrigues battled with Harry Taylor on his way into the box and slotted the ball beyond Oxborough’s left glove.
Dean Brennan’s side pulled one back in the 61st minute when Teddy Howe played a low cross into the centre for Mason-Clark to turn home beyond the reach of Jaros.
Notts County found the net for the fifth time in the 72nd minute when Roberts raced to the byline and cut it back through the bodies to Wootton who swept it in from close-range.
The home side further extended their advantage with just minutes remaining as Kairo Mitchell held up play inside the box.
The substitute then laid the ball off to Matt Palmer who found enough space to curl it into the corner of Oxborough’s goal to wrap up the points for his side.
