Barnet Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfield player, Serhat Tasdemir on a season long loan from Championship side, Peterborough United.
The 20-year-old is no stranger to National League football, having made several appearances at this level for AFC Fylde during a two-year spell with Coasters between 2017-19.
Tasdemir made his debut at Mill Farm at the age of 16, becoming their youngest ever player in the process, as he notably scored a hat-trick in his first appearance. He then went on to make his National League debut in September 2017, coming off the bench to score against Bromley FC.
The Blackburn born midfielder was a part of the Coasters side that went on to make the National League play-off final, Tasdemir made 34 appearances in all competitions in 18-19 season scoring nine goals from midfield. During his time at Mill Farm, he made a total of 63 appearances scoring 14 times, whilst also being part of the side that was promoted from The National League North.
His impressive displays for AFC Fylde earned him a move to Peterborough United in the summer of 2019, since then the attacking midfielder has made 20 appearances for the newly promoted Championship Club, scoring one goal in the EFL Trophy against West Ham United. He also spent a short time on loan at Oldham Athletic last season, making seven appearances during his spell with the Latics.
Our newest recruit has also had experience at international youth level, playing for Azerbaijan U19 on three occasions. Tasdemir likes to take a man on and has an eye goal both inside and outside of the penalty box, he will certainly add attacking flair to Harry Kewell’s side.
We are delighted to be welcoming Serhat to the Club and wish him every success for the upcoming campaign. The deal is subject to the usual regulatory processes.
Stay tuned for an interview with Serhat, very soon!
