Left back Matthew Briggs arrives at The Hive London and has widened the clubs options and increased our squad depth.
Matthew Briggs started his career in the Fulham youth setup. He made his Premier League debut aged just 16 years, 65 days making him the youngest ever player to play in England’s top flight.
Loan spells whilst at the Cottagers took him to Leyton Orient, Peterborough United, Bristol City and Watford before a permanent move to Millwall in 2014.
He made 12 appearances at The Den but was loaned to Colchester for the remainder of the season. The U’s made the loan permanent in June 2015 and he would spend two seasons at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, making 47 appearances.
Briggs signed for Chesterfield in summer 2017 on a short term deal and now arrives at The Hive London, back in his home city.
The 6ft defender has represented England at all youth levels and has a senior international cap for Guyana.
Welcome to Barnet, Matthew!
