Barnet started brightly and were rewarded with a goal in the 15th minute. Nana Kyei dribbled his way through the Hampton defence before sending the goalkeeper the wrong way has he coolly slotted home.
Chris Dickson tested the Trialist Goalkeeper between the sticks for Barnet but the shot-stopper was equal to the effort.
Former Hampton loanee Jack Taylor had a free kick saved by Tom Lovelock. Jack Barham then picked up on a loose ball from Lovelock, turned to shoot but was greeted by a wall of recovering red & blue-shirted defenders.
Mason-Clark had an effort saved whilst at the other end, the Trialst GK was kept busy, getting down very quickly to stop Dickson’s effort.
Kyei doubled his and Barnet’s tally in the 42nd minute with a very similar goal to his first. Twisting and turning through several Hampton defenders before finishing into the bottom corner.
After the break, the Trialist in the Barnet goal was on top form to deny both Wichelow and Ogi before having to face a penalty following Joe Payne’s foul on the latter.
Matty Wichelowe stepped up and struck the left upright, however the Trialist GK had guessed correctly and looked likely to save if it had been a few inches to the right.
In the 77th minute, Barnet made it three with three substitutes involved. Malakai Hinckson-Mars’ cross from the left wing was not connected with cleanly by Benji Agahdiuno but it fell to Fumnaya Shomotun who took one touch to compose himself before firing home.
The Trialist in the Barnet goal was replaced by 16-year-old Aymen Azaze and he was called into action late on to stop Daniel Uchechi’s free kick.
