“I’m very happy. It’s been a while, I’ve been here for a few weeks now and I’ve been looking forward to this day. I can move on a look forward to the season.”
“It’s a good team atmosphere here, this group has got a lot of potential this season and I’m looking forward to working with them.
Manager John Still is happy to welcome an exciting young prospect to the club.
“We needed to bring another goalkeeper in. Mark (Cousins) has come in and supporters have seen in pre-season that he’s a very, very good goalkeeper.
“We wanted someone under him, but do you go for an experienced one that can push him all the way or do you go for one that you think can grow.
“Well, we’re fortunate enough to get Rihards, who has recently been at West Ham where I’ve seen lots of him. He’s a Latvian youth international and when the opportunity came to get him, we pushed the button and I’m absolutely delighted.”
Welcome to Barnet, Rihards!
