In a game that saw the winger spectacularly open his scoring account with the Bees, Jamal was left frustrated at two points lost.
“Delighted to get a point out of the game after coming from a goal down twice. But frustrated after we feel like we completely dominated the game and created enough chances to win two games.”
“We’ve got to be more ruthless all over the park.”
Jamal’s floated chip in the 88th minute was the second excellent goal of the match following Akinola’s superb over head kick, and Jamal was chuffed to see it go in.
“I’m overwhelmed. Grateful and thankful that the gaffer and the boys showed faith in me to just keep getting on the ball and letting me do my stuff.”
Following an injury hit first half of the season, Jamal is now thriving under regular game time.
“The second half of the season I’ve stayed injury free and really enjoying my football. Hopefully this can continue into next year as well.”
Kevin Nugent praised his sides determination in the dressing room post match and the way they came back from a goal down on two occasions.
“He said we showed great character. To show the character we did shows great determination throughout the squad. Well done to the boys.”
Looking ahead to Wednesday’s visit of Yeovil Town, Jamal was very positive about the challenge and the teams hunt for their first Kevin Nugent win.
“It’s vitally important we rest for the next 48 hours, then hit the ground running on Wednesday. Hopefully under the lights we can produce a good performance.”
“The signs are there that we have the nucleus to do some fantastic. It’s just getting that win and we’ll march on from there.”
