Barnet started brightly, Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro’s third minute lay off found Harry Taylor in space, but his shot was saved by Archer.
Nine minutes in, Shomotun delivered a dangerous cross from the right wing which had to be headed behind by a Millwall defender.
The Bees took the lead on nineteen minutes. Harry Taylor delightfully slotted through John Akinde who beat the offside trap to coolly finish past Jordan Archer.
Worrall had a good opportunity for the visitors shortly after, but he couldn’t get his effort on the slide on target after a good cross from Shane Ferguson.
Akpa Akpro saw his cross almost catch out Archer who had to palm it behind.
Millwall’s Shaun Williams tried a volley from 20 yards out, but Stephens was behind it all the way.
The Barnet number one was the hero again shortly afterwards pulling off a brilliant double save. Firstly denying Gregory one-handed and then Ferguson’s follow up header.
Rossi Eames made one change at the break, bringing on Craig Ross.
Five minutes after the restart, John Akinde raced through on goal but fluffed his lines, scuffing his shot under pressure from the Millwall centre-half.
Worrall’s curling effort from 20 yards was easily saved by Ross on the hour mark.
Neither side created any clear cut chances as the game drew to a close. Akinde saw a couple of opportunities go just wide of the post.
Just before the final whistle, substitute Ephron Mason-Clark had a stinging effort from distance saved at the second attempt by Archer.
The Bees will next face Braintree away on Tuesday night before returning to The Hive for our Community Day fixture against Concord Rangers.
