Goal scorer Luke Gambin has expressed his pleasure at the Bees’ performance against Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, as Barnet extended their unbeaten run to four games at Victoria Road.
Discussing the match, Luke said:
“It was great team performance – to go away to Dagenham and get the win.
“All the boys are happy and it’s a great result for us.
“It was good to go and get a victory, off the back of the recent clean sheets that we’ve had.
“Every individual dug deep, and I’m glad that we got a result.
“My goal was really just a case of natural instinct in the box – I think I flicked it, turned and hit it low into the bottom corner.
“I had a conversation with the manager – he wanted me to get into the box more often, score more goals and get more crosses in.
“As a player that’s what all I want to do.
“I just go out every week and do my best – but obviously you want to score goals for the team.
“Now we need to kick on a keep going.
“The team is doing really well and I’m just enjoying it at the moment.
“It’s all positive really; the team put in a real shift for 90 minutes, in an attacking and a defensive sense.
“After last Saturday’s postponement we were all gagging to play against Dagenham and to start climbing up the table.
“We’ve got a good bunch of lads here, and we’re a particularly tight unit on the pitch and off the pitch.
“The coaching staff – Graham Stack, Gary Waddock and the manager – really encourage us to go out on a Saturday and play good football.”
