The goalkeeper has been in good form this season, having made 26 appearances for Barnet in all competitions.
Manager Martin Allen reacted to the news, saying:
“Last night Jamie Stephens agreed a new two year contract with the Chairman, which is great news.
“He has really improved throughout the season; he’s grown in confidence and he’s grown in stature.
“It’s a great move to get this young goalkeeper signed up for another two years, with an option to extend after that.
“I’m really pleased for Jamie, I’m pleased for the football club, and it’s another important step forward for all of us.”
Jamie expressed his delight at extending his stay with the Bees, saying:
“I’m ecstatic – I’m really happy to have committed my future to the club.
“I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and I’m glad to be here for the long term.
“I think this is a club that’s progressing and going forwards – that’s one of the main reasons that I signed.
“The team, the infrastructure and the people here – it’s a team on the up, and I’m glad to be a part of it.”
