The wait is over for Bees fans, as the EFL released their 2016-17 League Two fixtures at 9am this morning.
The new season starts on Saturday 6th August, and Barnet will kick off with an away match against Cambridge United at The Abbey.
Our first home game of the campaign is the following weekend – Saturday 13th August – when beaten play-off semi finalists Accrington Stanley visit The Hive.
Blackpool are the first of the relegated sides to head to North London (Tuesday 16th August), with the Bees playing Colchester United, Doncaster Rovers and Crewe Alexandra in September, October and November respectively.
A trip to newly promoted Grimsby Town is in store for Martin Allen’s men on Saturday 12th November, but fans will have to wait until Boxing Day before visiting National League Champions Cheltenham Town.
The Robins are one of Barnet’s festive opponents, alongside Luton Town (A) on Saturday 31st December and Plymouth Argyle (H) on Monday 2nd January.
These seasonal matches are sandwiched between two local derbies – we play Stevenage at home on Saturday 17th December and Leyton Orient away on Saturday 7th January.
That game will be the Bees’ second clash with the O’s next season, with Andy Hessenthaler’s side visiting The Hive as early as Saturday 1st October.
Barnet play Stevenage again at the business end of the season; travelling to Broadhall Way on Saturday 1st April.
Our final home game of the campaign is against Grimsby Town (Saturday 29th April), while the last match of 2016-17 is away at Crewe Alexandra (Saturday 6th May).
