Michael Gash says he is still in the early stages of his recovery from a knee surgery but the Barnet striker is glad to be back amongst it at The Hive.

The 30-year-old forward suffered season-ending knee ligament damage in the Bees’ 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley in the middle of August.

He has been an increasingly regular visitor to The Hive in recent weeks and is now working full time with physiotherapist Luigi Cerullo as he gradually works towards full fitness.

“It’s nearly nine weeks post-op and everything is coming along nicely,” he said prior to training. 

“I’m back in full time with the physio and the other injured lads. It’s good to be back amongst it and seeing the lads and staff daily.

“We’re still at the early stages but everything so far is going to plan and I’m looking forward to going back to the gym with Luigi every day!

“I’m working on stuff with my hamstrings, light exercises for the lower legs which I haven’t been using; abductors, glutes, hamstrings. 

“I couldn’t do much after the operation. After a few weeks you start moving about and I was coming in every other day but now I’m in full time. 

“It’s good to be up there trying to work hard. I can do upper body work fully which is a good work out. I am looking forward to when I can start moving properly.”
