Bondz N’Gala completed a £60,000 switch to Vanarama National League side Eastleigh on Tuesday morning, ending a two-and-a-half-year association with Barnet Football Club.
An influential and extremely popular member of the Bees’ dressing room, Bondz spoke on Tuesday evening – hours after making his debut for the Spitfires – to thank everyone at The Hive for their friendship and support during his time with Barnet.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Barnet and it gave me some special times, not least getting promoted in 2015 and achieving the highest finish Barnet have had in the Football League in a long time.
“Winning the Vanarama Conference title in 2015 was the highlight of my career. But, even more importantly, I made great friendships within the club with the players, supporters and the staff and there are a lot of people I am genuinely going to miss.
“The move came as a surprise and it all happened very quickly. It was a great option for myself and the Club. Eastleigh are a progressive club looking to move forward and do good things so it was a project I was keen to be part of.
“We got a 1-0 win today against Aldershot Town so it’s the ideal start for me. As you would imagine, I followed Barnet’s result too and it was a great result so I am really happy for the lads and the gaffer.
“Winning the championship was special but I have formed great bonds with people at the club – including the Chairman and the manager – so it has been a great two-and-a-half years at Barnet.”
Good luck, Bondz and thanks for the memories!
