Goalkeeper Jamie Stephens felt it was not Barnet’s day as they went down 2-1 to rivals Stevenage at The Hive and expects the Bees to push on against Cheltenham Town on Boxing Day.
Goals from Dale Gorman and Luke Wilkinson either side of a John Akinde penalty settled the game in Boro’s favour as Rossi Eames’ secon game as interim manager ended in defeat.
"We started off a little slowly in the first half," Stephens said. "They played good football and pinned us back in our own half. But then we had chances and started playing in the right areas.
"It was more that they took their chances, rather than us, today. It doesn’t stop us, we will keep working hard. It’s one game and we have been doing well.
"We will keep on it, keep building on performances and push on from here."
The Bees had plenty of second half chances but could not find a way past Stevenage keeper Jamie Jones.
"We had chances in the second half and looked a lot better," said Stephens. "We limited them. They took their chance well, it was an error but we all made errors in the game.Â
"These are things we can work on. It was not our day today."
