Defender Joe Payne has signed a professional deal with Barnet Football Club, capping an already memorable campaign for the 17-year-old.
Payne, who shot to fame when he scored from the halfway line against Enfield Town in the Middlesex Senior Challenge Cup, made his first-team debut against Peterborough United in the EFL Checkatrade Trophy.
The left-back-cum-centre-back this morning put pen-to-paper on a professional contract with the Bees, marking the culmination of five years’ work at The Hive London.
Payne becomes the second scholar to sign a professional contract with the Bees, following in the footsteps of Ephron Mason-Clark.Â
