Assistant coach Adrian Whitbread is to leave Barnet Football Club, following Tuesday night’s home match against Northampton Town.
The well-travelled coach has been offered an exciting opportunity overseas.
Speaking to barnetfc.com, Adrian explained:
“I’ve had an offer from overseas which is yet to be announced – it’s going to be announced next Monday.
“I spoke to the Manager and the Chairman about it, and they both understood my situation.
“Obviously they wanted me to stay, but it’s just an unbelievable opportunity.
“It’s basically starting a football club from nothing – no players and no staff.
“So I’m going to be going in and actually setting it all up.
“That process is obviously going to take a lot of hard work.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity that Martin has given me again, and to the Chairman as well.
“The players have accepted me and been fantastic – I’ve got on well with all of the players and the staff.
“But obviously this is another progression for me and another chapter in my career.
“I’m off on my travels again – it’s my last game on Tuesday and then I fly out on Friday.
“I wish everyone at Barnet Football Club all the success in the world.
“I can see that progression has been made from last season, when they went up as champions.
“Even in the two games we’ve played in the league, we’ve performed very well.
“The players have got a great opportunity this season to go on and really do something.”
Everyone at Barnet Football Club would like to wish Adrian well for the future, and thank him for all his work at the club since arriving in the summer.
