Barnet manager Martin Allen says he ‘cannot wait’ to begin the new season tomorrow afternoon as his side kicks off their campaign with a trip to Chester.
Speaking to the club’s official website shortly after conducting the squad’s final training session of pre-season, Martin said:
“Five and a half weeks of pre-season training are now over and all our team play, our fitness work, and our preparation both on and off the field have now been put into place.
“The players are all fit, apart from Iffy Allen who is coming along nicely with Jayde. I am delighted with the attitude of all of the players and all the staff and now we can all start this ten-month competition together.
“We are leaving for Chester tomorrow morning at half past eight from the training ground. This is my 33rd year in football, my 33rd new season, and every season that I have ever gone into has always been the most important one.
“This is no different. I am excited, nervous and really looking forward to starting. Three games in a week is a fantastic way to start. I can’t wait. Bring it on!”
