Barnet manager Martin Allen is looking forward to a busy bank holiday weekend, with the Bees playing two games in the space of three days as they look to recover from Saturday’s first loss of the season against Lincoln City.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game away to Nuneaton, Martin said:
“I am really looking forward to the weekend. We have a fully fit squad and the players have all trained very well this week. The pitches are all in good condition after a bit of rain softened them up so that is good as well.
“Obviously after last Saturday we are looking to get back into top form after what was a couple of fantastic performances in the first two games.
“The knock back [against Lincoln] has given everybody a bit of a jolt it must be said, but we have the players and the characters both on and off the field to get it back on and get moving.
“All in all a good result on Saturday and then that sets us up for this local derby on Monday.”
The manager is also hoping to see a bumper crowd inside The Hive on Monday for Barnet’s game against Dartford, with the club offering free entry for kids, £5 for concessions and just £10 for adults:
“I found out a couple of days ago about this ticket offer that the Chairman has put together for the supporters.
“Kids can come in for free which is a fantastic effort and a commitment back to the supporters to come and watch us play.
“Hopefully it can help bring everybody together so that they can see that we are starting to make steps to go forward both with the team and with the club as a whole.
“It is an exciting time to be at Barnet and with a local derby here on Monday we have got an exciting, busy weekend ahead of us.”
