Andy Yiadom says the squad are raring to go as they look to put last Saturday’s defeat to Lincoln City behind them by taking maximum points over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Nuneaton, the Barnet defender said:
“We are raring to go. It is obviously Bank Holiday weekend so we have got two games in the space of three days. We are really looking forward to the weekend and looking to get six points.”
Having lost their first game of the season last time out, Yiadom says that the Barnet squad have regrouped this week and are looking to make amends straight away:
“The boys came in and were just focused. We don’t want to lose games so everybody has got their heads down and worked hard in training to put it right at the weekend.
“You can’t play well in every single game, sometimes things go wrong.
“But we are not thinking about that, we are just going into training and working very hard and I know that we are going to get it right at the weekend.”
Having been pushed into midfield for the second half against Lincoln during which time the Bees’ nearly fought back from 2-0 down to claim a point, Yiadom is looking to pick up where the side left off:
“It is nice to go in there and mix it up a little bit in midfield, it is different to right-back. In the second half we did much better so we are going to have to try and take that second half performance into the game against
Nuneaton and I’m sure that we’ll get a good result.”
The Boro are yet to win a game this season having taken just one point from their first three games, but Yiadom says that there is no chance of Barnet getting complacent as they look to return to winning ways this weekend:
“We’re not looking too much at which team we are playing because we know that everybody can beat everybody.
“We just want to take three points from every game that we go into so we are going to go into each game head first and work hard to get those three points.”
