Martin Allen has praised his entire squad ahead of this evening’s trip to take on Dover Ahtletic at the Crabble Ground live on BT Sport, as the Bees look to use their game in hand to return to the top of the Vanarama Conference table.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Barnet manager recognised the impact that many of his players have had from the bench so far this season, saying:
“We had not played well against Alfreton and it was not a great performance, but the substitutes came on and made a big difference to the outcome of the game.
“That just shows how important it is to make sure that all of the players in our squad are treated fairly and with respect and that they are given opportunities.
“Ours subs so far have played a major part in the wins that we have had through the season, and obviously the Luisma goal on Saturday highlighted this.
“The lads that have gone on really have changed the games that they are playing in. For me as a manager and for all the supporters, that is a real boost.”
With this in mind, Martin revealed that he would be making changes to the starting team to take on Dover:
“A few players picked up some knocks on Saturday, so they will be having fitness tests this morning.
“One of our players in particular played with a great deal of courage. To get through the game on Saturday, well I was absolutely delighted with him. It wasn’t an easy day out for him but he kept going, and kept fighting right until the very end.
“We are going to make changes again to the team. I believe that everybody can play in a winning team, and we have to go there now with the same focus, the same willingness and desire against a team that has just won 4-1 away from home.
“They have just signed several new players, so we have got to be right at the very top of our game for this match.”
