BROWN PLEASED WITH PROGRESSION

Kenny Brown was pleased with the Development Squad’s performance despite seeing them slip to defeat against Colchester United.
The U’s clinched a 2-1 win at The Hive on Tuesday but for large parts of the match the Bees bettered their opponents.
Brown however remained upbeat taking the positives and insisting that at this level overall performances will always take precedence over results.
“I think that we all know at this level, Development Squad football, you are not results governed.
“It is lovely to win and you always go out with the intention of winning, but the main focus is to work on players within the week and then let them apply that during these games.”
Brown also believes that over the past few weeks there has been a gradual improvement and that the young Bees are moving in the right direction.
“To be fair we had the Queens Park Rangers result here and for numerous reasons that went against us.
“Looking back that was probably a good thing because it made everyone, both the players and us, freshen up and concentrate on their job.
He continued: “We then went to Brighton where we put in a very good performance, the result was not but they scored two late on which made it look like a poor result.
“Then we played yesterday and were beaten again but there were far more positives than there were negatives.
“We spoke to the players about that post-match and praised them because they are applying themselves well and but for two lapses in concentration they would have got something from the game.”
