As the construction of Barnet FC’s new stadium at The Hive gathers pace, the most visual part of the building work is now under way with the installation of the West Stand.
The stand, which will be the largest in the stadium with a capacity of over 2600, arrived this week and is now in the process of being assembled.
We will be providing photo updates of the construction as it happens to enable supporters to be part of this exciting process of the stadium build.
The main construction of the pitch has now been completed with the importation of 1700 tonnes of rootzone soil for the new surface. A new automated irrigation system has also been installed and is being put to good use in keeping the surface moist in the cold dry weather. The pitch was seeded using the same mix as used at The Emirates Stadium.
The construction was problematic in relation to the cold conditions and the snow during the early stages but with temperatures warming we hope to see germination very soon.
